Cañizares and Tomatito add the flamenco touch
to the 2008 Córdoba Guitar Festival

Estrella Morente & Dulce Pontes, El Pele and the show ‘Mujeres’ also appear on the bill of the event, which is to be held July 4th to 18th in Córdoba (Spain)

The flamenco touch shines once again at the Córdoba Guitar Festival. The upcoming edition will be championed in this genre by Cañizares, in concert with the Orquesta de Córdoba conducted by Mauricio Sotelo, by Tomatito in concert and by Santiago Lara with the live show of his début album. Flamenco’s presence will go beyond the six strings. There will be cante by Córdoba-born cantaor El Pele; and by Estrella Morente, in a face-off with fado singer Dulce Pontes. Baile will be displayed in all its splendor in the show ‘Mujeres’, starring Merche Esmeralda, Belén Maya and Rocío Molina. Moreover, the bill offers a new edition of the course ‘Naturaleza y forma de la guitarra flamenca’ (‘Nature and Form of Flamenco Guitar’) directed by Manolo Sanlúcar, with José Antonio Rodríguez, Manolo Franco and Paco Serrano as instructors.
